In a pivotal stride towards elevating healthcare standards across the nation, the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) has unveiled an exclusive Assessors’ Training Programme, custom-tailored for healthcare professionals. This programme, meticulously aligned with the 5th Edition Standards for Hospitals, is designed to equip participants with the essential skills required for assessing healthcare organizations.
Scheduled to be held from April 29 to May 3, 2024, in New Delhi, this five-day intensive training program is exclusively open to candidates working at hospitals accredited under NABH 5th Edition Hospital Accreditation Standards.
Under the programme, participants will undergo comprehensive training involving interactive teaching sessions, practical exercises, and a final written examination on the last day. Successful completion of the course will enable participants to be considered for empanelment as NABH assessors.
Candidates interested in participating must meet stringent eligibility criteria set forth by NABH. These criteria include a minimum period of consecutive employment at the current accredited facility, along with specific qualifications and experience tailored to different roles within healthcare settings.
Moreover, desirable criteria such as attendance at NABH Hospital Standards programs and involvement in the implementation of accreditation standards will also be taken into consideration during the selection process.
The last date to submit applications is set for March 18, 2024. Shortlisted candidates will be required to pay the course fee online and provide an undertaking from their respective organizations.
NABH has emphasized its commitment to maintaining high standards and reserves the right to select participants based on operational requirements. Furthermore, completion of the program does not guarantee automatic empanelment, as selection will be done in accordance with NABH guidelines.
Essential criteria for the program stipulate candidates to possess a minimum of five years of consecutive employment at the current accredited facility.
The eligibility criteria for clinicians is post-graduation in a clinical subject (MD/MS/DNB or higher qualification) with a minimum of seven years of experience, For Administrators (Clinical), the criteria is MBBS with Post Graduation in Healthcare Management or Hospital Administration, coupled with a minimum of ten years of experience. For Administrators (Non-Clinical), the criteria is Graduation in a Science discipline with Post Graduate diploma in Hospital/Healthcare management or Masters in Hospital/Healthcare Management, along with a minimum of fifteen consecutive years of experience in Hospital Operations/Administration/Quality.
For nurses, the eligibility criteria is PhD/M.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of seven years of experience or B. Sc. Nursing with a minimum of ten years of experience.
Desirable Criteria (for all Categories) is attendance at NABH Hospital Standards programs, involvement in the implementation of accreditation standards in their respective organizations. Higher qualifications and extensive experience will be preferred.
