The executive committee of the Telangana state branch of the Indian Pharmacy Graduates’ Association (IPGA), convened its crucial meeting on July 19 at its State Office in Balaji Nagar in Kukatpally, approving a multi-pronged action plan aimed at strengthening pharmaceutical education, student employability, and professional networking across the state.
The session was chaired by Dr. Prabhakar Reddy, state general secretary, with key executive members in attendance to chart out the association's upcoming agenda.
Focusing on academic excellence, the committee resolved to organize specialized Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), training modules, and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) sessions for pharmacy educators. To promote advanced learning and research collaboration, IPGA Telangana will also host state- and national-level seminars, scientific conferences, workshops, and academic symposia catering to faculty, students, researchers, and industry professionals.
Addressing the critical gap between academia and industry requirements, the committee decided to roll out skill development workshops, career guidance sessions, and personality training. These initiatives aim to enhance student employability and align their skill sets with evolving sector demands through stronger industry–academia interaction programmes.
To translate these skills into direct employment, the committee approved a dedicated plan to facilitate job opportunities for pharmacy graduates. In partnership with leading pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and research facilities, IPGA Telangana will conduct campus recruitment drives, placement programmes, and regional job fairs.
In a bid to expand its professional footprint, the association announced a statewide membership drive targeting pharmacy graduates, young professionals, faculty members, researchers, and students across all districts. Highlighting the initiative, executive leader G Koteshwar Rao emphasized that expanding active membership and bringing young pharmacy talent into the IPGA fold is essential for building a unified voice to advance professional interests and public healthcare standards across Telangana.
Beyond education and employment, the executive committee deliberated on critical structural priorities, including the advancement of the pharmacy profession, expansion of public health services, promotion of pharmaceutical research, maintenance of strict professional ethics, and better coordination with state government departments.
The meeting saw active participation from executive members, including G Koteshwar Rao, Kashi Viswanath, Dr Gampa Vijay Kumar, Dr Prabhakar Reddy, Kilaru Manohar, P Rajasekhar, G V Ramana Reddy, and Rama Rao.
Concluding the session, the members reaffirmed their collective commitment to elevating pharmacy education and serving public healthcare in the region.
