As part of celebrating the National Pharmacy Education Day, the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has requested the pharmacy institutions to conduct Pharma Anveshan 2026 on March 6.
The Council has been conducting National Pharmacy Education Day on March 6 every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Professor Mahadeva Lal Schroff, to recognise his contribution in establishing pharmacy education in India.
The Council has asked all pharmacy institutions to conduct a programme on March 6, invite at least 300-400 experts faculty members, researchers, Ph.D scholars, postgraduate & undergraduate students, industry professionals, members of various pharmacy associations and regulatory authorities.
"It is mandatory to invite PCI members of concerned state as invited guests. You may include them as speakers or panellists depending on their expertise," said the Council in a communication to all pharmacy institutions. It has also sought institutions to submit letter of interest to conduct the programme.
In some of the earlier years, the PCI has also informed that it will release a financial assistance per institution to selected pharmacy institutions to conduct the programme.
Commenting on the celebration, PCI said, “Prof. M. L. Schroff created and shaped the precise pathway for pharmaceutical education in India with his predisposition, understanding capacity. Patriotism and comprehensive visualization. He has been a pioneer to introduce full-fledged three-year B. Pharm course at BHU for the first time in India in 1937".
"The PCI urges to all Pharmacy institutions to celebrate national Pharmacy Education Day', on 6th March 2026 to commemorate the birth anniversary of long-time unsung hero of pharmacy education in India and thus making a deep mark on the various aspects of pharmacy education," it added.
