The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has asked the existing pharmacy institutions who failed to submit Standard Inspection Format (SIF) for the academic session 2026-27 in the three previous opportunities during the year 2025, to submit the SIF within February 27.

The Council has said that it has reopened its portal "for all those existing pharmacy institutions that failed to submit SIF for the Academic Session 2026–2027 during the period when PCI Portal was opened from 6.10.2025 to 31.10.2025, 1.11.2025 to 10.11.2025 and dt.11.11.2025 to 15.11.2025 for submission of online SIF".

"In view of the above, all such institutions are hereby directed to ensure submission of the SIF on or before 27.02.2026. Institutions are strongly advised not to wait until the last date, as increased portal traffic may lead to technical delays," it added.

It may be noted that the Council has recently decided to open the portal for the existing pharmacy institutions to submit SIF for the academic session 2026-27 on or before February 27, 2026, following a favourable order from the Supreme Court.

The Council approached the Supreme Court seeking extended time for the existing pharmacy institutions to submit SIF for the academic session 2026-27, and received an order on February 6, granting "permission for opening of portal of Pharmacy Council of India for filing the SIF qua list of existing colleges is extended for three weeks from today for the academic session 2026-2027."

Following this, the Council has on February 10, announced, "All existing institutions are hereby requested to submit the SIF on or before 27.2.2026".

The Council also requested the institutions not to wait for the last date as crowding may slow down the server, and submit the applications at the earliest, within the stipulated date.

It may be noted that the PCI, on September 12, announced a revised time schedule for approval of pharmacy institutions in the country, effective from the academic session 2026-27.

The modified schedule, according to the latest circular, says that the institutions can register for issuance of PCI code for submission of application for the first time and submit the statutory documents throughout the year. If the documents of the institutions are found to be satisfactory by the Council, the institution will be allowed to submit the Standard Inspection Format (SIF) along with PERC as per the standards prescribed in the scheme formulated by the Council.

If the Institution submits the SIF along with PERC before 1st November of the previous year, the application shall be processed for the current academic session, however, if the Institution submits the application on and after November 1, of the previous year, the application shall be considered for the next to next academic session.

According to the revised schedule, the academic session will commence from August 1, and the last date up to which students can be admitted against vacancies has been fixed as August 15.
