Fujifilm India introduces CAD EYE artificial intelligence endoscopy system in Jaipur at the Fortis Hospital. The diagnostic technology, crucial for tackling the rising threat of gastric and colon cancers in the underserved region of Rajasthan. It is a major milestone for the entire state as this is the first ever installation in Rajasthan.

In India, gastrointestinal (GI) cancer reveals a significant burden, marked by increased occurrence rates for esophageal, stomach, liver and colorectal cancers due to lifestyle changes and changing environment. This concern is compounded by insufficient cancer treatment infrastructure and a lack of systematic studies, highlighting the importance of finding timely detection strategies to tackle these cancers.

The installation of Fujifilm’s CAD EYE boosts diagnostic accuracy and facilitates a better adenoma detection rate to provide timely intervention and improve patient outcomes. This state-of-the-art machine comes equipped with the latest imaging technology like LCI (Linked colour imaging)-BLI (Blue light imaging) along with Artificial Intelligence technology.

Dr Shyam Sunder Sharma, senior director & HOD gastroenterology, Fortis Hospital, Jaipur Rajasthan said, “This marks a significant milestone with the installation of Jaipur’s first-ever artificial intelligence system, CAD EYE. This innovation will not only enhance the current medical infrastructure but also ensure faster and more accurate results—without any additional cost to patients—for the first time in Rajasthan. This accomplishment goes beyond technological progress; it reflects our unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare outcomes for our community. With CAD EYE, we are set to raise the bar in gastrointestinal care, enabling timely and precise diagnoses that are vital in the battle against cancer. AI-powered endoscopy has proven to be a transformative tool in improving patient outcomes, though it has largely been confined to metro cities in India. It holds immense potential in preventing serious and life-threatening conditions such as stomach and colon cancer by detecting them at a pre-cancerous stage

Dheeraj Chaudhari, head of endoscopy systems division, Fujifilm India, said “We aim to provide superior technologically advanced medical facilities that help save lives and encourage patients to become more engaged in their personal care. With the vision to innovation, we will strive to provide our consumers with the best-in-class technology and make India a healthier place to live in.”
