As India grapples with rising cases of lifestyle diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, Madhavbaug, a pioneer in Ayurveda-based cardiac care, has joined hands with the Ministry of Ayush to drive preventive healthcare through Yoga. The collaboration is part of the upcoming 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2025) on June 21, with Madhavbaug actively supporting state-wide initiatives led by the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), Mumbai.

India currently shoulders the highest global burden of cardiac and diabetic patients, with over 77 million diabetics and cardiovascular diseases causing one in four deaths. The partnership aims to shift the focus from treatment to prevention by integrating yoga as a front-line defence against lifestyle illnesses.

Madhavbaug Khopoli Hospital recently successfully conducted a Yoga event for 100 heart patients as part of the International Day of Yoga celebrations. The event was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, and was attended by Dr Rohit Sane, CEO & MD of the hospital. The event aimed to promote holistic health and well-being among heart patients through yoga and Ayurveda. The participants showed great enthusiasm and dedication, and the event was a huge success. The hospital's efforts to promote yoga and Ayurveda among heart patients are truly commendable. The event was a grand success.

As part of the Ministry’s 10 signature events (including Yoga Sangam, Yoga Unplugged, and Hatha Yoga), Madhavbaug will organize yoga-centric awareness and wellness camps across Maharashtra. These will target high-risk individuals through community outreach and guided practices at Madhavbaug centres.

“For over a decade, Madhavbaug has championed yoga not just as a tradition, but as a clinically supported intervention for cardiac health. We are proud to align with the Ministry to take this message to every corner of Maharashtra,” said Dr. Sane.

The initiative will also involve citizen participation, with all events registered on the ministry’s official portal: https://yoga.ayush.gov.in/yoga-sangam

With over 350+ centres, Madhavbaug is India’s leading integrative healthcare network specializing in non-invasive cardiac care, diabetes management, and ayurvedic rehabilitation. Its participation in IDY 2025 underscores its commitment to mainstreaming preventive health in collaboration with national institutions.
