Federation of Asian biotech associations (FABA) in collaboration with Indian Immunologicals Limited conducts workshop on "Foundations in Microbiology, Molecular Biology & Cell Culture" at Agri biotech foundation, Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad from May 8 to June 4, 2025.
The objective is to develop essential laboratory skills, technical expertise, and professional competencies for Bachelor's, Master's, Industry Professionals and Ph.D. students in life sciences. This programme is specifically designed for UG/PG/PhD students/young scientists/faculty in colleges and universities/industry personnel. Participants will be provided a certificate recognised by Indian Immunologicals Limited.
The intensive one-month course provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of microbiology, molecular biology, and cell culture techniques along with soft skills needed to job market. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on laboratory sessions, and interactive discussions, participants will gain a solid theoretical understanding and practical skills in these essential areas of life sciences. It aids students to enhance their technical skills like microbial culture techniques and analysis DNA isolation, PCR, and gel electrophoresis cell culture maintenance and advanced applications, laboratory safety and aseptic techniques, experimental design and data analysis. It also enables them to gain insights on professional skills that covers scientific literature searching and evaluation, laboratory notebook maintenance, career development strategies, personal branding and CV building, using AI tools for scientific research. This course will be headed by Dr. M V Jagannadham, scientist and served as chief scientist at CCMB, Hyderabad, visiting professor, University of Hyderabad and currently scientific committee member of FSSAI, New Delhi, specializing in mass spectrometry, protein chemistry and proteomics.
The programme fee for undergraduates/graduates/postgraduates is Rs. 10,000. For faculties/Ph.Ds and postdocs is Rs. 15,000. For industry professionals is Rs. 20,000. The application deadline: 1st May 2025. There are only limited seats up to 20, stated the communication note from FABA.
