This call for expertise underscores the Government of India’s commitment to enhance healthcare standards through research-driven policymaking. By engaging seasoned scientists, the Centre for Evidence-Based Guidelines aims to establish high-quality, evidence-based healthcare practices that will benefit millions across the nation.

DHR plays a pivotal role in promoting and coordinating health research activities across the country. Key functions of DHR is to develop health research policies to address national health priorities, coordinate and monitor health research across various institutions and organizations, provide financial and technical support to enhance health research infrastructure and capacity in India.

It is also tasked to oversee the creation of guidelines based on systematic reviews of global evidence to inform public health decisions and support research on emerging diseases and strategies for their control and prevention. It also ensures the findings of health research are translated into actionable policies and programs.
