ASTM International and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) are partnering to host a healthcare innovation workshop which will be held from September 12 to 13, 2024 at ASTM’s global headquarters in West Conshohocken, PA (USA).
The workshop will identify priorities and gaps in manufacturing technology.
Building on an initial workshop which was held in January 2023, this broader stakeholder workshop aims to collect new insights on technology gaps and set standards development priorities for the biotechnology and biotechnology manufacturing industry sectors. Furthermore, it will invite collaboration among researchers, policymakers, and industry experts to confront biotechnology challenges in modeling, process control, material testing, and more.
“We are excited to partner with AAMI on this important initiative,” notes Andy Kireta, ASTM International president. “The goal of this effort is to help a diverse set of stakeholders prioritize and address critical standardization challenges brought about by the introduction of new innovations impacting the healthcare industry.”
