In a significant development aimed at bolstering healthcare accreditation processes, the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) has declared a comprehensive revision of fee structures for its hospitals and Small Healthcare Organisation (SHCO) accreditation programmes, effective from April 1, 2024.
The move is poised to facilitate the continued delivery of quality healthcare services to communities nationwide, ultimately benefiting patients and healthcare providers alike.
In a communiqué addressed to partner hospitals, NABH highlighted the necessity of this revision, noting the absence of any fee adjustments since 2017 despite the prevailing inflation and notable increases in operational costs. The decision comes as part of NABH's ongoing commitment to enhance accreditation processes, including the upgrading of portals and the augmentation of manpower at the NABH Secretariat.
The revised fee structure primarily targets the Annual Accreditation fees for Hospital and SHCO programmes, with application fees remaining unaltered across all categories. The revisions aim to ensure that NABH continues to deliver robust accreditation services while meeting evolving operational demands.
Under the revised fee structure, the Annual Accreditation fees for SHCO Accreditation Programme (3rd Edition) will witness an increase, with hospitals having 50 or fewer beds facing an adjustment from Rs. 1,10,000/- to Rs. 1,50,000/- plus GST @18%. Similarly, for the Hospital Accreditation Programme (5th Edition), fees for hospitals with varying bed capacities between 100 beds and above 500 beds will be adjusted upwards, ranging from Rs. 1,65,000/- to Rs. 5,00,000/- plus GST @18%.
Dr. Atul Mohan Kochhar, CEO of NABH, expressed gratitude for the continued support and commitment of partner hospitals towards quality healthcare. He emphasized the importance of these revisions in sustaining the excellence of accreditation programmes amidst changing operational landscapes.
Furthermore, NABH provided clarity on the applicability of the revised fee structure, affirming that accredited hospitals and SHCOs with payment due dates falling on or after April 1, 2024, would adhere to the new fees. For new applicant hospitals and SHCOs, the revised fee structure will be effective from the date of grant of accreditation.
It's imperative to note that once fees are paid, they are non-refundable and non-transferable, as per NABH regulations. The announcement of the revised fee structure underscores NABH's commitment to maintaining high standards in healthcare accreditation processes while ensuring affordability and accessibility for healthcare institutions across India.
