The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) has issued a notice alerting the public about a fake advertisement on NABH certification courses published and circulated by a Pune based institute.
As per the NABH notice, “General Public is hereby informed and cautioned against an advertisement published by Bharati Vidyapeeth University Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Pune, offering various certificate courses, wherein the NABH logo has been used without authorization, falsely indicating NABH’s association/support in offering such courses, and likely to be misconstrued as false claims portrayed by the aforesaid University, College or Hospital, suggesting NABH being a partner with in such courses.”
It is hereby informed and clarified that NABH does not endorse, recommend, or partner with Bharati Vidyapeeth University Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Pune, in offering/conducting any such courses as specified or portrayed in the advertisement, and the claim, if any, made by the aforesaid University/College/Hospital regarding an association with NABH, is entirely false and misleading, the notice further read.
“Any person believing to have NABH association/support in offering or conducting such course as portrayed in advertising, acts in pursuant thereto will be doing so at their own risk, peril and cost and NABH shall be in no way liable or responsible for the cost and consequences thereof,” informed Dr. Atul Mohan Kochhar, CEO, NABH.
NABH has partnered with Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) to carry out entry level certification of hospitals which has been made mandatory for providing cashless insurance facility to the citizens at their premises.
NABH ensures high quality of care and patient safety, the objective of this certification process is to build a quality culture at all levels and across all the functions of the healthcare organisations.
NABH is a constituent board of Quality Council of India (QCI), set up to establish and operate accreditation programmes for healthcare organisations. The board is structured to cater to much desired needs of the consumers and to set benchmarks for progress of the health industry. The board, while being supported by all stakeholders including industry, consumers, government, has full functional autonomy in its operation.
