Keeping in view the demand of various industry associations, the National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Authority (NPPA) has given a final opportunity to the pharmaceutical companies in the country to register under the Integrated Pharmaceutical Database Management System (IPDMS) till March 31, 2016.

Earlier in January this year, taking into the demand of various stakeholders, the NPPA had once again extended the last date for registration of manufacturers under the IPDMS and file all the forms as required under the Drugs Price Control Order, 2013 till February 15, 2016.

The NPPA had earlier issued notices dated 16.11.2015 and 21.12.2015 to all pharmaceutical manufacturing/marketing companies in captioned matter to register themselves in IPDMS and file all the forms as required under the Drugs Price Control Order, 2013 on or before December 15, 2015 and January 15, 2016 respectively. The companies were also directed to file the latest online Form V for all the formulations manufactured/marketed by them, irrespective of whether they have submitted the same in hard copy or not.

As the companies did not fully comply with its orders, the NPPA held a review meeting. In the review meeting held with the representatives of the pharmaceutical associations, it was presented that the industry sought more time for online submission of information forms mandated under DPCO 2013 through IPDMS.

Keeping in view the above request of industry associations, the last date to file the forms as required by the above mentioned notice is further extended to March 31, 2016. No further extension shall be done under any circumstances, the NPPA in its latest order said.

It is reiterated that failure to submit mandatory data/mandatory returns prescribed under the Drugs (Price Control) Order, 2013 through the IPDMS will attract penal action under the provisions of DPCO, 2013 read with Essential Commodities Act, 1955. NPPA may be constrained to initiate prosecution proceedings under the provisions of EC Act, 1955 against companies which fail to submit requisite and mandatory forms under the DPCO, 2013 through IPDMS, the NPPA further warned the companies.
