Indian-origin pharmaceutical scientist Dr Shashi Ravi Suman Rudrangi elected as FIChemE

Indian-origin pharmaceutical scientist Dr Shashi Ravi Suman Rudrangi, associate director, CMC drug product manufacturing at Olema Oncology, Ireland, has been elected a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (FIChemE), one of the highest professional honours awarded by the Institution in recognition of sustained leadership, technical excellence and significant contributions to chemical engineering.
 
Founded in 1922, the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) is a globally respected professional body representing chemical, biochemical and process engineers in more than 100 countries. Fellowship (FIChemE) is awarded to senior professionals who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement, leadership and a lasting impact on engineering and industry.
 
Dr Rudrangi has built an international career at the intersection of pharmaceutical science and chemical engineering, making significant contributions to chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC), pharmaceutical engineering, manufacturing science, technology transfer, process scale-up and the commercialisation of innovative medicines. His work has helped translate scientific innovation into robust manufacturing processes and high-quality medicines for patients worldwide.
 
An internationally recognised pharmaceutical scientist, Dr. Rudrangi is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), a Chartered Scientist (CSci) and a Chartered Chemist (CChem). He has received numerous international awards, authored scientific publications, delivered invited keynote lectures at leading conferences, chaired national and international scientific meetings, and actively contributed to advancing pharmaceutical sciences through academia, industry and professional organisations.
 
Originally from Suryapet, Telangana, Dr. Rudrangi completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) at Kakatiya University, Warangal, before moving to the United Kingdom (UK) to pursue a Master's degree and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Science at the University of Greenwich.
