Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd., India’s leading contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has announced the launch of its DCGI-approved pregabalin, methylcobalamin and duloxetine (delayed release) capsules, a novel triple-action therapy for the management of diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain associated with vitamin B12 deficiency.
The newly launched formulation combines pregabalin 75 mg, methylcobalamin 1500 mcg, and duloxetine 20 mg/30 mg (delayed release), bringing together three complementary therapeutic mechanisms.
Pregabalin helps reduce abnormal nerve firing and provides relief from neuropathic pain symptoms. Duloxetine modulates central pain pathways by inhibiting serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake, while also supporting improvements in associated anxiety and sleep disturbances. Methylcobalamin, the neurologically active form of vitamin B12, supports myelin sheath repair, improves nerve conduction, and aids in the regeneration of damaged nerve fibres.
A key differentiator of the therapy is its advanced dual-delivery technology, which enables the immediate and consistent release of pregabalin and methylcobalamin while ensuring targeted intestinal delivery of duloxetine.
