In a telephonic chat with Pharmabiz, he said the new team of office-bearers will take charge of the association on May 31, and in the first meeting a new course of action for the association will be designed. TS IDMA will work for fulfilling the interest of its members and lobby with the government on relevant industry issues and organise workshops and seminars for members to update their knowledge and increase practical skills. Further, the association will help the member companies, all of them are under MSME sector, to develop their standards, infrastructure facilities and business dealings.
For promoting entrepreneurship for the new entrants in the industry, the state IDMA will identify business opportunities for them by organising pharma trade fairs, machinery and product exhibitions, B2B meetings and tie-ups with major companies of other states for contract manufacturing. Similarly, TS IDMA will collaborate with the pharmacy institutions in Telangana to strengthen an industry-academia tie-up for research and development.
The association will direct its member companies to fully comply with the provisions of the drug act and the rules, and advise them to go hand in hand with the regulatory authorities. To prevent any kind of error in operation, the manufacturers will be given strict advice to create a ‘foolproof mechanism of action’ throughout the manufacturing process.
