In a concerted effort to address export challenges and enhance India’s pharmaceutical footprint worldwide, the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) has issued an open call to its members to identify hurdles and propose innovative strategies for growth.
Highlighting the critical need for collaboration, Pharmexcil’s director general, K Raja Bhanu, emphasized the importance of collective effort in overcoming trade barriers and sustaining the momentum of India's pharmaceutical exports.
“Indian pharmaceutical exports are the backbone of our global presence. To ensure sustained growth and capitalize on emerging opportunities, we must address the existing challenges head-on. By sharing insights into tariff and non-tariff barriers and suggesting forward-thinking strategies, we can shape a resilient and innovative path for our industry,” stated Bhanu.
Pharmexcil has set up a dedicated "Issues & Strategies" portal on its official website to gather inputs from members. This initiative aims to tackle a range of challenges, from custom tariffs and product registration hurdles to banking issues and compliance with international trade agreements.
Member pharma exporters have been urged to share specific issues affecting exports to various countries, including tariff and non-tariff barriers.
Stakeholders are encouraged to propose actionable, sustainable solutions to foster innovation, navigate trade complexities, and expand market reach. Insights from diverse stakeholders will be compiled to present a comprehensive case to relevant authorities and policymakers.
Pharmexcil assures that the contributions will play a pivotal role in crafting effective policies and resolving trade barriers, ensuring India’s pharmaceuticals continue to thrive on the global stage.
“To submit inputs, visit the "Issues & Strategies" section on the Pharmexcil website or contact Prasanth K, joint director, at webdesk@pharmexcil.com. Together, let us empower the Indian pharmaceutical industry to conquer challenges and explore new horizons for global growth,” concluded Bhanu.
