The All India Drugs Control Officers Confederation (AIDCOC) has elected the new office bearers for the coming two years in a Central Council meeting held in Hyderabad. Dr S W Deshpande, former director general of the Confederation has been announced as the Chief advisor and Udaya Bhaskar, former president of the organisation and former executive director of Pharmexcil, has been announced as the director general of AIDCOC. RP Choudhari, drug control official from Maharashtra has been elected as the president of the Confederation, while Rajashekar Malli from Karnataka has been elected as secretary general. Raghurarm (Karnataka), Rajendra Patel (Gujarat), Ravi Chandran N C (Tamil Nadu), and Shaji M Varghese (Kerala) have been elected as vice presidents. M Chandra Shekhar (Telangana), Sachin Kamble (Maharashtra), Bilal Ahmad Rather (J&K), and Partha Saha (West Bengal) has been elected as secretaries, while Ashish Kumar Pal (West Bengal), Nithin Kumar (Tamil Nadu), M Vikram (Andhra Pradesh), Nitin Aher (Maharashtra), Mukesh Mungalpara (Gujarat), Chandan Halder (West Bengal), Saju R (Kerala), and Immanuel Nesa Kumar (Tamil Nadu) has been elected as joint secretaries of the Confederation. K Anvesh, an official from Telangana, has been elected as treasurer, during the meeting. AIDCOC's training academy, set up to sharpen the skills of regulatory officials across the country through training, will be guided by Udaya Bhaskar as the director general and Lakshmi Prasanna, director of the academy. AIDCOC was formed on December 28, 1995 at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh and is headquartered in Mumbai. The Confederation was formed as a result of untiring efforts of many officers across the country at the national level, it says. It represents the regulatory officers of the country working in the Drugs Control Administration through their respective state associations.
