The Tamil Nadu branch of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (TN IPA) will organize a valedictory function for the 61st National Pharmacy Week celebration held last month on the theme, ‘India – Pharmacy of the World’. The function will be conducted at the new auditorium of the IIT Madras Research Park in Chennai on December 20. The founder chairman of the Bharat Biotech Ltd, Hyderabad, Dr. Krishna M Ella will be the chief guest at the function. The chairman of the Tamil Nadu Pharmaceutical Sciences Welfare Trust (TN PSWT), SV Veeramani will be the guest of honour. Sources from the IPA informed that the function would be organized by IPA in association with TN PSWT and five categories of awards will be presented to students, teachers and institutes for various achievements. The awards are instituted by various associations and companies. A warm welcome will be given to Dr. Krishna Ella by TN IPA. The five categories of awards include ‘Best pharmacist award, best student award, best teacher award, best institution award and best essay award, sources from the IPA informed. The president of TN IPA J Jayaseelan, secretary T Satheesh, Treasurer H Bhandari and patron N Narayanaswami will speak at the function.
