DM Healthcare, the largest network of integrated healthcare provider in GCC and India to mark 75 years of progressive India launched a new healthcare initiative ‘My India, Healthy India’.  The initiative mobilized with the help of Aster Volunteers, the global CSR arm of Aster DM Healthcare highlighted the importance of building a productive nation that is backed by healthy citizens.

The campaign jump-started with Asterians hosting several distinct physical activities across Aster hospitals, pharmacies, and labs in India on August 15. The activities that began shortly after the flag hoisting ceremony included 75 minutes of either Yoga, walkathon or a Zumba session organized at Aster facilities in Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra.

According to one of India’s largest studies on people’s physical activity, more than half of the urban Indians assume inadequate levels of physical activity, making them susceptible to diabetes, hypertension, and other non-communicable diseases. To change unhealthy habits, small and daily tweaks in lifestyle can make a huge difference in people’s life, stated a communication from Aster DM Healthcare.

“As we celebrate the 75 years of Independence of our great country, we are committed to enable the vision of our nation’s leadership of activating Amrit Kaal for India, fuelled by the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat.  On this auspicious occasion Aster is proud to launch ‘My India, Healthy India’ from today onward every facility of Aster will urge our customers to inculcate a habit of healthier lifestyle through various ways in line with the vision of making India healthier. We will be supporting this through many awareness campaigns and free and subsidized tests and treatments, said Dr. Azad Moopen, founder chairman and managing director, Aster DM Healthcare.

Through the campaign, more than 10,000 Asterians across its branches and more than 2,000 citizens advocated the need for significant lifestyle changes through nutrition and exercise for an overall holistic approach to health.
