Founded in 1997, Punjab Academy of Sciences has been aiming at strengthening and collating the activities of various scientists working in universities, colleges and other institutions in India esp. in North India. It is a registered body under Society Act with more than 1500 life members. The Punjab Science Congress is held every year, where large numbers of scientists meet and present their research papers in different disciplines of science. Under the constitution of the Academy, Honorary Fellows are elected every year, who have made immense contribution to the development of research in various scientific fields and those who have worked for promotion of scientific temper in the society.
